Hoa Lục Bình - Water Hyacinth
I lost my cousin not long ago, after a long battle with cancer. This painting is for her — and for a childhood summer world we shared: a quiet pond, dragonflies above the water, pink-fleshed guavas eaten straight from the tree. Some memories are too precious to leave out.
Toward the Sun
It was my second year as a surface pattern designer. I was sending pitches every week and hearing almost nothing back. Every morning I walked to a specific spot in my garden and prayed. One August morning, the light came through differently — and my roses showed me something I needed to see.
