Hoa Lục Bình - Water Hyacinth
I lost my cousin not long ago, after a long battle with cancer. This painting is for her — and for a childhood summer world we shared: a quiet pond, dragonflies above the water, pink-fleshed guavas eaten straight from the tree. Some memories are too precious to leave out.
The Leaf That Found Me
My Vietnamese name means gem leaf. When I built The Bright Leaf Design, I searched for a logo leaf and fell in love with the skeleton Bodhi leaf before I knew what it meant. Then I read about the Bodhi tree — the tree of awakening. I didn't choose it. It chose me.
Toward the Sun
It was my second year as a surface pattern designer. I was sending pitches every week and hearing almost nothing back. Every morning I walked to a specific spot in my garden and prayed. One August morning, the light came through differently — and my roses showed me something I needed to see.
